Welcome to Swim Academy Blue Wave (SABW) swim team.  We are the result of a merger of two Greater Kansas City area swim teams: the Spirit of Kansas City Swim Academy and the Vivion Road Family YMCA Blue Wave swim team.  Swim Academy was founded in 1984 by head coach Mary Jo Klier and the YMCA's Blue Wave swim team began in 2002 with just 12 swimmers.  This merger in 2008 resulted in a team of over 200 swimmers who compete in local, regional and national competitions.  By joining our team, your swimmer is embarking on a journey of self-improvement, enjoyment, success and building powerful skills needed for accomplishing any goal in life!
